Transitioning back to school is big work! Ready to save time with all the must-happen errands?
Why handle the job alone when you can get help? You’ll feel like you got a personal assistant with tip #5. But first, if you’ve missed any part of the back-to-school series you can find it all here.
Sanity tip #5: Delegate and outsource. When you have a lot on your plate, utilize resources to help you save time that goes toward another task.
I am always looking for creative ways to be more efficient, and the following time-savers allow me to accomplish those small, extra details to manage my special needs back-to-school plan.
1] Use Alexa or Google Home: For the modest price of these devices, they are worth every penny. When my husband Lamar gave me an Alexa as a gift, I was very skeptical. Now, I strongly rely upon the ease of setting a potty schedule for Juliana and having my grocery list on my phone.
2] Take advantage of online order pick-ups: Walmart, Target, and CVS are a few retailers that I use for item pick-up. This year, I didn’t have the energy or desire to drag two kiddos through the back-to-school aisle. I ordered EVERYTHING online and happily drove away with my school supplies.
3] Ask your spouse, friend, or family member to help: Sometimes, I have a swirl of activities going on in my head. I’ve learned that getting help is necessary. When you delegate, don’t get caught up in the idea that things have to be “just so.” Appreciate the extra hands, be grateful for the help and move on.
